While the AQHA Level 1 (Novice) East Championship is in full swing in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Novice West Exhibitors are also having a fun time in Las Vegas, Nevada at the SouthPoint Hotel and Casino. The Level 1 (Novice) West Championship started on October 1st and runs through October 5th. The judges for this event are Lyle Jackson, Liz Baker, John Briggs, Bruce Walquist, Sandy Jirkovsky and Sissy Anderson.
“It’s a great time here in Vegas at the 2014 AQHA Smartpak West Novice Championship show,” says trainer, Chelsea Carlson of Oregon. “It appears to be the largest one since the show was first put together–the hype and energy of the participants is also at a big high. Compared to previous years, there are more people from farther away who claim to not only have come for the show’s experience, but also a Vegas one.”
Carlson adds,”The newly added Rookie division has been a great hit at the show, giving exhibitors with less experience an even better chance at placing well. The first day of competition ran smoothly, and as the second day is starting up, we are all looking forward to seeing who comes out on top with the gold trophy!”
