Final Pictures of the Day with Pine View Farm’s Debbi Trubee

GoHorseShow is excited to have Debbi Trubee of Pine View Farm doing the picture of the day for us at the Congress. Pine View Farm is the home of Invitation Only, Lazy Loper, The Best Martini, Winnies Willy and Lopin Lazy. Trubee along with Roger Landis are the breeding managers for the farm. We are thrilled she wanted to share her pictures with us from the 48th Anniversary of the event. Check out her pictures from the show.

Final Pictures of the Day from Congress

Debbi Trubee has two photos to share for her last pictures of the day. The first is the amazing presentation involving Invitation Only on Saturday night (main image). He was brought to the center of the arena to be honored on a red carpet and roses around his neck. Debbi shared her thoughts about the night.

I can’t even begin to tell you how emotional this whole experience has been for us at Pine View Farm. We are so thankful to Ohio Quarter Horse Association and NSBA to allow us to share Invitation Only with the world at last night’s presentation. To watch David James go in Invy’s stall and give him a pat and say, “Hello old friend”…an incredible moment. To watch Invitation Only walk down that red carpet with the spotlight on him with Roger (Landis) by his side…an indescribable feeling of pride. We are truly blessed to have Invy and so proud for him to have been recognized as our industry’s greatest living sire.

Debbie’s other final picture of the day is everyone packing up to go home from the Congress.

It ends just as it began with trailers jammed into parking slots. Many folks will pack up dreams that have been realized at this year’s Congress and others will pack up their defeats. You can rest assured all will head home and work just a little bit harder for next year. It has been lots of fun and a pleasure to bring GoHorseShow readers the pic of the day. Safe travels to all and see you next year!

Pictured is the sun! It’s a rare sight to see in Columbus, Ohio in October. Weather report for the weekend is warm and sunny. If you haven’t taken the time to come out to the Congress this year the weekend weather will be perfect. Lots of great classes still to come with a little something for everyone showing through the weekend. The Congress Masters classes show Saturday night with a special guest appearance by “Invitation Only” during intermission!

New Dad, Paul Thurston has his hands full with baby Carter and his wife Tami’s haul of trophies! Tami was Reserve Champion in the 3yr. old Hunter Under Saddle Ltd Finals. Paul and Tami are two of the nicest folks you’ll find in our industry, blessed with talent, kindness and now blessed with their son, Carter.

For those of us that live in Ohio getting to the Congress is no big deal. The All American Quarter Horse Congress is a world renown event and people travel from all over the globe to spend some time in Columbus, Ohio to watch the best of the best in the Quarter Horse world compete. Pictured left is Robyn Davies with her traveling companion Liz Ivankovich. Robyn and Liz have traveled all the way from Australia to attend this year’s show. I only wish we could offer our international visitors better weather!

Okay I know you are probably wondering why I took a picture of a framed picture of Invitation Only–but there is a huge surprise that is happening October 25th between the hunt seat and western pleasure Masters Classes. It involves the now AQHA Leading Sire, Invitation Only. Can you guess what it is? Make sure to be there to see what happens!

Picture #7 from Congress
Pictured here is me with Jennifer Simpson in her cool “GO” cap. Jennifer is in charge of advertising sales for GoHorseShow and GoMag. Make sure to stop and and say, “Hi” while she is at the Congress. Since I get to do the pic of the day, I also get to do an unsolicited shout out for a great group of people that run the site. Suzannah, Landon, Laura, Jennifer, you all run a first rate business and are ALWAYS a pleasure to work with!

Picture #6 from Congress

Hey, hey, whatcha gonna pay, ok, whatcha want to give! That’s the sound of the auctioneer’s chant at the Congress Super Sale! The Super Sale is held on Saturday October 18th in the Lausche Building. Take a stroll north across 17th Avenue to check out the 150+ horses being offered for sale. You might just find your next Congress Champion!

We have a saying about horses with poor conformation, they look like three men in a horse suit. Well here is one man in a horse suit. Even though this is a Quarter Horse show you never know what other “breeds” you’ll see wandering the aisles!

Picture #4 from Congress

If you’re at the Congress today and you need to know anything from where a vendor is set up to what’s going on for the days events–stop by the information desk in Congress Hall! Debbie Trent and Sharon Knoch know everything there is to know about all things All American Quarter Horse Congress!

Picture #3 from Congress
Today’s picture is of Odie. It’s his first Congress and he is owned by trainer, Missy Thyfault of Shelby, Ohio. There’s lots to see today with western riding and western pleasure classes in the Celeste, and halter classes in the Coliseum. Also, like Odie, make sure you take a nap when you can so you can stay refreshed and not get the Congress Crud.

Picture #2 from Congress

The Small Fry Competition has wrapped up at the 2014 Congress with Small Fry Western Pleasure on Sunday. I do believe it’s the most stressful class of the show. What a great group of horses taking care of the little ones. Placing fifth tonight was Miso Lazy and Alexis Potts. When I asked everyone to smile for the camera I didn’t expect Miso Lazy to join in. Congratulations to all the kids and to Congress Champion Small Fry Western Pleasure, Ava Coughlin on Divas Invitation.

We’re always excited to set up at the Congress because we get to visit with so many of our breeding customers and see the products of our stallions out there showing. Stop by in Gilligan to see the boys and pick up a ball cap or coffee mug! We are off to a great start with two Reserve Congress Champions for Lazy Loper! Stay tuned for more pictures from the show.
