Prince Farm, LLC Enjoys Record-Breaking Congress

“This has been a Congress of a lifetime,” says Dewey Smith, resident trainer of Prince Farm, LLC. “PF Premo was Grand Champion Open and Amateur Stallion and unanimous winners under all eight different judges. I’ve never heard of that happening before, but PF Premo is a once-in-a-lifetime horse that has a great disposition with an impressive combination of muscle and structural correctness.”

With Chester and Anne Prince taking home 15 Congress trophies at this year’s Congress, it is safe to say that this is their best Congress ever.

“I believe we had 12 trophies one year but this year definitely tops that,” Chester Prince told GoHorseShow while at a celebratory dinner with family and friends. “I don’t think anyone has brought home 15 Congress trophies before, so it is probably a record–it definitely wasn’t expected and I was surprised. I am very pleased with our home team. There were a lot of great horses and trainers at Congress, but, luckily, we ended up on top this time.”

Their impressive list of winners include three year-old, PF Premo–winner of Amateur and Open Three Year-Old Stallions and unanimous Grand Champion Open and Amateur Stallions; PF Thatsmschrometou, Champions in Amateur Weanling fillies, and Open and Amateur Weanling Fillies Challenge winner; PF Special Effects–Open and Amateur Yearling Mare Challenge winner; PF Chrome Rimz–Open and Amateur Yearling Gelding Challenge winner; PF The Only One–Open and Amateur Yearling Stallion Challenge winners; and PF Grand Slam– Amateur Weanling Stallions.

Impressively, all of Prince’s Congress winners were by their stallion, Chromed Up, except one–PF The Only One. PF The Only One is by the late PF Credibley Supreme, who was a full brother to PF Premo. In 2011, as a yearling, PF Credibley Supreme stood Congress Grand Champion Stallion, which was unheard of from a yearling. Unfortunately in June of 2012, the up-and-coming stallion unexpectedly passed away due to an allergic reaction from antibiotics.

PF Credibley Supreme’s full brother, PF Premo is now in the spotlight and taking up the slack from his late brother. With Chromed Up and PF Premo, Prince Farm has two of the best halter breeding stallions in the industry. Prince credits their bloodlines to their success– PF Premo’s sire is the late, MH Supremo, and dam, is great mare, Ima Credible Miss. Chromed Up is by MH Supremo and out of AQHA World Champion Mare, Grace N Glamour. (PF Premo pictured left after Anne’s Amateur Grand Champion win at Congress)

“I believe in a few years, Chromed Up will be one of the leading sires in the industry,” Prince states. “He has been a great producing stallion so far in his short breeding career.”

Dewey Smith, their resident halter trainer, is one of the primary reasons the Prince’s have had consistent success over the years. Smith has accumulated over 121 World or Reserve World Championships in Quarter, Paint, Palomino, Pinto and Buckskins.

“I would like to thank Chester and Anne Price for all their support and also my wife, Tammi, who I couldn’t have had any of this success without her. She runs the ship and always makes me look good,” remarked Dewey (pictured above with Ann Prince).

The stud fees for both stallions will stay the same as last year–PF Premo–$2,000 and Chromed Up– $1,500. All their foals are eligible for: AQHA Incentive Fund, The Breeders Open Futurity, WCHA Futurity, APHA Breeders Trust, and The Big Money Futurity.

We congratulate them on their amazing success and wish them luck at the AQHA World Show coming up in November.
