Quarter Horse Congress Signs 10-year Deal to Stay in Columbus

From The Columbus Dispatch

The All American Quarter Horse Congress will stay at the state
fairgrounds for the next decade, state Agriculture Director David
Daniels said yesterday.

Daniels announced the contract as he updated the Ohio Expositions
Commission about the 1,200-stall barn and pavilion that will be added to
the fairgrounds next year.

The 218,000-square-foot facilities, funded with $15.5 million in state money, were key to keeping the event at the fairgrounds.

The current 10-year contract with the Quarter Horse Congress expires
in 2015, and congress officials had threatened to find another venue if
the fairgrounds didn’t add facilities to accommodate the growing, nearly
month long event.
