GoHorseShow would like to congratulate the Huver family on selling their gelding, All But Sudden, to the Weakly and Gilliam families. “Stevie” will be shown by Shayne Gilliam in the 13&U all-around events, while Knox Weakly will show him in the Small Fry events.
“As soon I saw him, I knew he was the missing piece of my puzzle; I’m so excited to start a new chapter with Stevie,” 12-year-old Shayne Gilliam told us. “Knox and I are going to be the perfect trio.”
Five-year-old Knox said, “I can’t wait to show Stevie in the English. I’m going to go ride him in my English saddle tonight.” (Knox pictured right with Stevie)
Knox’s mother, Kaleena Weakly adds, “Knox has been determined to show in the hunt seat events, so we knew we needed to find a very versatile show partner. Plus, she loves the showmanship and trail. So it couldn’t be more perfect for both girls.”
All But Sudden, a 15-year-old gelding by RL Best Of Sudden, is a multiple AQHA World, NSBA World, and Congress Champion/Reserve Champion in four events with six different exhibitors. That covers the gamut from open, youth, amateur, and select. “I am assuming he will add more titles, now in the 13&U and the Small Fry. Looking forward to watching it all unfold,” Jane Huver told us.
Jane and her husband, Rob Huver bought Stevie in 2011, just before he was named Reserve World Champion in the Junior Western Riding at the AQHA World Show. Stevie returned the next year and won the World Championship in Junior Western Riding.
“We have been blessed with 11 amazing years with Stevie. He and our daughter, Livvie had a wonderful show career together, winning championships, circuits, and all-arounds at all the majors,” added Jane.
Livvie shared Stevie with her stepdad, Rob Huver, who has had a great amateur and select career with him, winning multiple Congress titles, circuits, and world show trophies.
“Perhaps the best thing about Stevie is that everybody knows him,” Jane says. “People often stop us and ask how Stevie is or say hi to him…we made so many good friendships because of him. We are blessed with the best trainers and show family at Highpoint Performance Horses. We are so thankful to Charlie Cole, Jason Martin, and the Highpoint crew for their dedication to Stevie and our family.”
Livvie told us that Stevie is a one-of-a-kind horse. Her heart horse. “From my first year in 14-18 to now, he was my partner in crime and made all my dreams come true.”
One of her favorite memories was at the Congress when she had ridden her first western riding line on Stevie just one month before. She was reserve at the Congress in western riding. That same year, she won the Novice 14-18 All Around and was reserve in the 15-18 All Around at the Congress, showing in the trail, western riding, horsemanship, showmanship, equitation, and hunter under saddle.
One of her other favorite wins was that same year at the NSBA World Show in the youth trail and western riding.
“He is such a special, kind, and talented horse, and everyone who knows him, adores him,” said Livvie. “He truly earned his nickname ‘Stevie Wonder.’ He always cared for me and taught me how special a bond can be between a rider and their horse.”
Livvie continues, “Although it is bittersweet to part with my heart horse, I know he has so much love and amazing rides to give to Shayne and Knox. I can’t wait to see all that they accomplish together.”
Jane adds, “We are thrilled about Stevie’s new home. We simply could not have asked for anything better. The thought of him being hugged and loved by Knoxie and Shayne brings joy to our family. The Gilliam Show Horses team and those two darling little horsewomen are the dream home for our Stevie Wonder. We can’t wait to watch Stevie make their dreams come true.”
