10 Things You Probably Don’t Know about Brittany Morgan

Learn some fascinating facts about Brittany Morgan in our popular series, 10 Things Things You Probably Don't Know About Me.

Amateur Brittany Morgan of Brawley, California, remembers that she was on a horse for the first time when she was about “five-ish.”

“I remember riding cattle pens with my dad around the feedlots. I wasn’t super horse-crazy then. I still wanted to be a ballerina,” Morgan recalls. “I was eight when I really started getting into the horses. We started showing at local shows with an old Appaloosa mare named Britches, and a Shetland Pony named, Brombe. Shortly after, I got a two-year Paint gelding, OnAWhimAndaPrayer, and we started doing APHA shows, and the rest is history.”

Morgan is well-known in the industry showing such top horses as OnAWhimAndaPrayer, Lil Bit Western/Little Bit Western, Untraditional, Dukes Your Daddy, Huntin For Fun, and Whats UR Number. She is currently showing VS Code Of Gold (Swazzee) under the guidance of Highpoint Performance Horses in amateur horsemanship, trail, and showmanship.

10 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me

1: I was homeschooled. I started homeschooling in the 1st grade and never went back. It definitely made showing horses a lot easier.

2: I went to school for broadcast communications in radio and television. After graduating, I worked for a radio station in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a television Racing Program in the area as a reporter.

3: I started my own production company and internet show. Weekend Warriors TV and Production was the brainchild of a friend and me. We filmed local and out-of-state races from Florida to Nevada, focusing on the “weekend warriors.” Along with the show, we also produced promo videos for NASCAR drivers, teams, and music videos.

4: I danced and taught classical ballet and jazz. My mom and her family had a dance studio. I literally grew up dancing. I actually wanted to be a Prima Ballerina, but horses took hold of my heart, and I haven’t looked back. I took a slight break from dancing and started up again when I was 14 and began teaching when I was 16.

5: I am a certified yoga instructor. I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and became certified to teach about 8 years ago. I was even invited to teach at a festival in Alaska, which was amazing and so fun! I love the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual benefits the practice offers to your life.

6: I am in the agricultural industry. I own a feedlot in the panhandle of Texas with my sister, brother, and dad; My family has been in the cattle industry my entire life. My husband is a vegetable and hay farmer in our hometown in California. The agriculture industry has always been a huge part of my life and who I am as a person.

7: I am a certified Holistic Health Coach. I became a Holistic Health Coach because I enjoy helping people. There is such a need for reconnecting with our bodies and the natural world around us. I feel like food is such a great place to start; with being so involved in the creation of food as well, it is a natural fit. I am currently continuing my health education to become a Holistic Kinesiologist.

8: I’m psychic. Surprise! Haha, but for real, I do karmic readings for people. Again, I enjoy helping people. It is such a soul calling for me. It seems a little out there, I know, but once you experience certain things in life, you have to be open to the idea/fact that there is so much going on that we don’t slow ourselves down enough to see.

9: I’m a blue belt in martial arts. I started training when my son Harrison started preschool. It was something I always wanted to try, but felt I never had the time for, so when Harrison started school, and I found myself with a few free hours, I thought I would give it a try. I love it!

10: I have been to one of the seven wonders of the world. I tagged along on my sister’s college trip to Peru, and it was life-changing for me. Not only is it a beautiful country, but there is also something simply magical about Peru; from the Andes and Sacred Valley, to Lake Titicaca and the cloud forest, I truly came back with a whole different view of life. Seeing and hiking Machu Picchu was breathtaking.
