On Saturday night in Fort Worth, Texas, The March To The Arch held two new slot classes that brought home some big money. The two inaugural classes were the 3 & Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure slot class, which paid $15,000 to the winner, and the 3 & Over Novice Horse Hunter Under Saddle slot class, which awarded $10,200 as the top prize.
In the 3 & Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure slot class, there were 14 horses shown with a total payout of $97,000.
The winner was Andy Cochran and Start Ur Engines, who brought home a check for $15,000 plus an additional $2,000 for being the highest Maiden Horse. Reserve Champion was Katie Green and Ima Golden Machine, who won $12,000; Third was Lunamoon and Angie Cannizzaro for Linda and Scott Berick (11,000); Fourth place was Chicklett ridden by Sara Simons and owned by Julie Byrd ($10,000) and rounding out the Top 5 was A Secret Code and Kristy Starnes ($9200).
In the 3 & Over Novice Horse Hunter Under Saddle Class, 17 horses showed and won over $46,500 in cash payouts, placing down to ten places in the hunter under saddle slot class.
The class winner was Sara Simons and All Silver Linings by Allocate Your Assets, owned by Jordan Symmelmeyer. Reserve Champion was the March GoMag cover boy, Its Game On, ridden by Jamie English for owner Tali Terlizzi, who earned a check for $7,700. Third was Good To Be First with Beth Case in the irons for Emily Miller, who won $5,200. Fourth place was Alyse Roberts and Armageddon for Barbara Mitchell ($3,700), and rounding out the Top 5 was Liz Baker and Lukes Like Money for owner Marcie McClenon ($3,700). Baker took home an additional $2,500 for being the highest placing Limited Rider.
The judges for both slot classes were Shane Young, Carly Parks, Jennifer Goss, and Karen Graham.
