Georgia and Florida Paint Horse Clubs “Swing into Spring” Rundown & Results

“We had a great turn out to our Swing into Spring APHA 4 Judge POR show in Statesboro, GA,” says Amanda Palmer, the show manager for the show. “This show was originally scheduled to take place in Florida at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center in Tampa, FL. Due to the COVID 19 closures, the show was canceled at the last minute. However, the Georgia and Florida Paint Horse Clubs were able to pull this off this last-minute venue change.”

Palmer adds, “The Georgia and Florida Paint Horse clubs are so thankful to the supportive staff at APHA, especially our Executive Director Billy Smith, Dave Dellin, and the APHA Board of Directors as they assisted in helping this last-minute venue change become a reality.”

This was the first APHA show held at the Bulloch County Agricultural Center in Statesboro, GA. The facility and show management had many measures in place to keep all the exhibitors safe while observing social distancing rules.

All the exhibitors enjoyed the amenities the facility had to offer and look forward to our next show at this facility to be held on June 27-28. The June Slice of Summer/APHA SE Championship Show hosted by Georgia Paint Horse Club will feature 32 APHA Championship Buckle classes.

“We hope this show will be heavily attended and will likely be one of the few APHA shows to be held during June,” Palmer told us. “We want to thank all the exhibitors who came out and supported this show. We had a great group of judges: Kathryn Boggetta, Don Beard, Sandy Curl, and Charlene Carter.

Palmer continues, “We feel fortunate to be one of the two APHA shows that have been able to happen since the COVID-19 quarantine, and we are looking forward to hosting more shows in the future. As always, our goal is to have a successful show while keeping our APHA members safe.
