GoHorseShow is excited to report that Susan Juroe of Longmont, Colorado has sold her gelding, First N Line, to Chris Harrison of San Diego, California.
Due to professional obligations, Juroe has had to take a break from showing. “This year, our 20-year-old Balfour Senior Living got ‘discovered,’ and we had a merger/growth opportunity. While working on our merger, time was precious, so my trainers, Tim and Shannon Gillespie, suggested I lease Kenny to keep him show ready.” So, this year, youth competitor Carson Click showed Kenny and won numerous titles.
“Chris Harrison, a select amateur from California, made me an offer that was too good to turn down…primarily because he could stay with the Gillespies,” Juroe shared. “We won so much together across AQHA and APHA as well as our AQHA Championship in Amateur, and he now has six Congress titles to his name. He is a once-in-a-lifetime horse who was always in a great mood and could do almost every event really well.”
Select amateur Chris Harrison, who admits that she recently considered quitting showing, says she is now excited and looking forward to returning to the show pen. “I had a horse that I struggled to keep sound, so that was frustrating, but he is now retired. I decided to go horse shopping with a friend, and I just immediately loved Kenny. He is so laid back and easy-going and I am excited to learn all the all-around events with him.”
A 12-time APHA titleholder, First N Line, is giving Harrison many new opportunities. Chris plans to temporarily move to Texas so she can be closer to her horse. She will be making her debut at the Florida Gold Coast and also plans to show at the APHA World Show since he is double registered. This marks the beginning of a journey sure to be filled with many firsts for Chris, who is re-energized and ready for the challenge.
“Kenny is a once-in-a-lifetime horse and one of the best horses we’ve had in our barn,” says Tim Gillespie. “I’m glad he will be staying with us, and we look forward to helping Chris reach her goals.”
