About the Cover
Ohio native Emma Brown and her two beloved geldings, Some Hot Potential (Brett) and Ur Ride Has Arrived (Thomas) are featured on the cover of the Congress issue of GoMag. Emma will show both horses in Columbus in the Amateur Trail and also the Amateur Horsemanship with Thomas. Her trainer, Jennifer Paul will show the geldings in the 6 & Over Trail and Senior Trail.

“I’m looking forward to showing; the Congress is my favorite time of the year,” 25-year-old, Emma shared. “Fun fact is that my birthday is October 5th, and I went to the Congress the year I was born and have not missed a Congress since.”

Emma has been under the supervision of Judd and Jennifer Paul since she was ten. Emma and Brett won their first World Championship title together in 2018 at the AQHYA World Show in the Trail 14-18. The next year they were AQHA Reserve World Champions in the Amateur Trail. Another highlight came in 2021 when she and Brett won the NSBA World Championship in Amateur Trail after he had been off from an injury.

“My heart horse, Brett got injured after the 2020 NSBA World and could not compete the whole year. We had to give him the year off, and we weren’t sure if he would ever return to the show pen. By God’s grace, we could have him back for the 2021 NSBA World, and I am so grateful for that. I’ll cherish him and that moment forever.”

Brown adds, “Brett is the sweetest, most loving horse; he truly loves his humans. I love hanging with him in his stall and loving on him. He’s so talkative and never skips a meal or a treat. Thomas is so kind-hearted and gives his all in the show pen. We like to say that he is the ‘jock’ who knows he’s beautiful and good at his job. Thomas loves to have his picture taken and always has his ears up. It has been so fun getting to know his personality.”

“My two horses are both the light of my life. Upon graduation and starting to ‘adult,’ I have found that the horses are truly an outlet for me to enjoy. I love going to shows and to the barn to spend time with them. My goals are to love on the boys as much as possible and enjoy Brett as he gets older. I am truly so gracious that he can still show, and I soak up every minute I get with him. We have been together as partners for ten years now,” Emma shares.

One of Emma’s favorite moments came this year when Jennifer took home the Senior Trail World Championship on Thomas at the NSBA World Show. “My goal with Thomas is to continue getting to know each other and get as much saddle time as possible. He is so special and loves to show. I focus on creating that connection as we grow as a team.”

We wish Emma the best of luck at the Congress and congratulate her on her recent engagement to Tyler Krimm. The beautiful couple plan to marry in August 2025.
