About the Cover

Featured on this month’s GoMag cover is the stunning stallion VS The Fireman. Bob and Ingrid Miller of Arizona purchased this royally bred stallion at the VS Dispersal Sale in August. At the age of four, “Gronk,” as he is affectionately known, is already an AQHA World Champion, Congress Champion, and NSBA World Champion.

New owner Ingrid Miller told us that in July, she first learned about Gronk being offered for sale in an article on GoHorseShow. With the VS Dispersal Sale quickly approaching, she immediately wanted to find out more about him.

“I had been looking for a suitable stallion to breed my VS Flatline mare, Cool Moving Lady (Valentine) to, and along came Gronk,” Ingrid shared, who along with her husband, Bob are long-time supporters of the Quarter Horse industry.

“I was headed to Texas to ride with Bruce (Vickery) and Anthony (Montes) the next week, so I decided to visit Aaron and Courtney (Moses) and meet Gronk. It took no time at all to see he was something very special. Then, Aaron rode him. First just walked, jogged, and loped. Then he did some lead changes – every step he took was exactly the same. After that, he got off, took Gronk’s bridle off then walked off. Gronk just fell in behind him like a large dog. When I got back to the stall, I went in and talked to him and petted him. He has a wonderful disposition, soft and not stud-like.”

Miller told us that Aaron Moses will continue to show Gronk in Western Pleasure. His next stop will be the AQHA World Show where they will show in the Junior Western Pleasure. Anthony Montes is working with Gronk on Trail and Western Riding and will begin showing him in Florida in January 2024. In February, he will be standing at stud at Tom McCutcheon’s facility in Aubrey, Texas.

“When you watch him, you can hardly see his lead changes and he is fabulous over the poles. He has great conformation, a wonderful disposition, and a historic linage,” Miller shared with us. Additionally, Gronk comes with a superior pedigree. He is by leading sire Machine Made and out of VS Lady In Red, an earner of over $120,000 and producer of over $72,000 with a grand dam lineage of Cool Krymsun Lady, an earner of $150,278 and 478 AQHA points, and a producer of over $558,000 in earnings.

“Due to VS The Fireman’s early success, he bred 80 mares last year. He has foals on the ground here and in Europe. One of his weanlings just sold for $70,000,” Ingrid proudly adds. “I wish all his little Fireman babies great success and a long life. I plan to breed him to Valentine and have two VS The Fireman babies in 2025.”

GoHorseShow wishes the Millers, Gronk and everyone connected with this once-in-a-lifetime horse the best of luck in their future endeavors.
