About the Cover

Fourteen year-old Peytyn Goodin of Pilot Point, Texas, and How Inviting (Howie) are featured on the cover of the June Issue of GoMag. This year, this new duo has been showing in the 13 & Under APHA all-around events under the supervision of James Saubolle with Elite Show Horses.

There have been many changes happening with Peytyn this year. With a recent move to Texas and a new trainer, this new team has been unstoppable, with multiple wins and circuit championships in the all-around events at all the top APHA shows. This team is looking forward to continuing their winning ways at the APHA World Show.

“Howie and I enjoy the pleasure the most. He has a goofy personality which makes showing more enjoyable,” Peytyn told us about her red roan gelding. “I like seeing my hard work pay off in the show pen. I also enjoy the friendships I’ve made while showing.”

The soon-to-be high school freshman is heavily involved in both track and showing horses. “When I moved to Texas, track became a part of my life. It is something that I wouldn’t have thought I had a passion for because I did cheer for so long. Even though I don’t cheer anymore, I can still juggle track and horses because my mom gets a lot of help.”

“Peytyn has always been a determined girl,” says her proud mother, Stephanie Mohindra. “She has a work ethic that sets her apart from the rest. She started All-Star cheer when she was three and cheered competitively for nine years. When COVID hit, she took a break from cheering and started riding more. She’s only been showing horses for two years and is currently showing a gelding named How Inviting and will be showing our other horse, Even More Sensational next year.”

According to Peytyn, her goals at this APHA World Show are to have clean patterns and consistent rides. “My future goals are to win the all-around high point at an APHA World Show and achieve honor rolls for the year.”

Mohindra adds, “A huge thank you to James Saubolle for pushing Peytyn and Howie to be the best they can be, while having fun.”

We wish this new team the best of luck at the APHA World Show. Also, watch out for Stephanie Mohindra and her 3-Year-Old, Ridealized, in the Non-Pro Western Pleasure, under the supervision of Sara Simons.
