The American Quarter Horse Association, located in Amarillo, Texas, is hiring a dynamic and talented leader to take the reins as executive vice president. The application deadline isĀ April 1.
The ideal candidate for the executive vice president position will have the business knowledge to further current growth patterns, initiative to drive change, leadership skills required to manage a passionate team of talented staff, foresight to recognize future needs and a desire to ensure the best for AQHA members and their American Quarter Horses worldwide.
For more than 80 years, AQHA has established a bold reputation as the worldās largest equine breed registry. The Associationās role in preserving the integrity of the breed is expanding daily. AQHA leads the industry with more than 230,000 members and more than 6 million registered American Quarter Horses in 136 countries around the world. The American Quarter Horse industry is in growth mode, demonstrating year-over-year increases in key AQHA business initiatives, such as memberships, transfers and registrations.
The best candidate for this role is a strong and passionate leader who is dedicated to fostering an environment of integrity, respect, longevity, open communication, collaboration, innovation and creativity to continually support and achieve the Associationās mission, vision and values. To lead a staff of more than 200 people, strong management and communication skills are a must. An ideal candidate is goal-driven combined with a willingness to mentor and inspire.
In addition to staff, AQHAās executive vice president will work with a variety of passionate groups comprised of industry professionals and life-long American Quarter Horse owners, breeders and competitors to ensure the Association is on a path for consistent growth and success. These groups include the AQHA Executive Committee, AQHA Board of Directors and AQHA Standing Committees, which assist in the development and implementation of strategic goals and objectives of the Association and American Quarter Horse Foundation. The executive vice president will deliver the day-to-day leadership to best achieve maximum revenue growth, integrity, efficiency, compliance and value for the Association and Foundation.
