Back by popular demand, the APHA World Shows have come full circle and are now combined back together into one summer extravaganza.
The 2021 APHA World Championship is underway through July 11th at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. We will see the youth, amateurs, and open exhibitors competing for up to 1.25 million in cash and prizes.
Some big prizes have already been given away.
Meredith Nelson Landy and All Good were champions in the 4 & Over Non-Pro Hunter Under Saddle, and Masters Amateur Junior Hunter Under Saddle. Stacy Lane and All Good won a very deep Junior Hunter Under Saddle class. Raelyn Nakahara and Shez Avant Garde were Intermediate Junior & Green Hunter Under Saddle Champions. This talented mare was bred and raised by Meredith Landy.
Another big win came in the show debut of All Im Gonna Do & Judy Zeitler. They captured a win in the 2021 Breeders’ Trust 3-year-old Maiden Hunter Under Saddle Stakes for owner Marchelle Everhart of Thomasville, North Carolina.
Decked out with a blue championship neck ribbon that matched the 2018 bay overo gelding’s blue eyes, “Davy” gave Judy a veteran-worth performance, even though it was just his first time to show.
“Whenever you show a maiden horse, there’s a lot that goes into preparation because you’re not sure how they’re going to react to the environment. It was a lot, but it paid off!” Judy said.
Winning her first world title, Lydia Menossi and Flat Sophisticated were also on cloud 9 after her Reserve World Championship in the Novice Youth Western Pleasure.
