About the Cover

The gorgeous black stallion, Makin Me Willy Wild is GoHorseShow’s January GoMag cover boy. “Geoffrey” is proudly owned by Debbi Trubee and Roger Landis of North Farm in North Lawrence, Ohio. He is sired by Winnies Willy and is out of Wildly Available who is the dam of Congress and World Champions, Only Rave Reviews, Avalablebyinvitation, and She Had Me At Hello.

Geoffrey’s first full crop was born in 2020. “We did have two babies born in 2019 from his test crop and those two are just now being started under saddle. Both are truly amazing,” said Debbi.

Getting a sneak peek with his test crop has enlightened them as to what he’s siring. The weanling crop was far and above anything we could have hoped for. The foals were very uniform with a ton of pretty and beautiful movers,” said Debbi. “Geoffrey doesn’t carry any color genes, but he was one hundred percent color for APHA mares and had several AQHA foals with belly spots. Sales on his babies have also been brisk for mare owners, and that’s a plus for everyone.”

Trubee says that, so far, Geoffrey is consistently passing on his great mind. “His babies are sweet as can be and pretty much just read the book on being a good soldier. We can definitely see his correct conformation in his foals along with lots of pretty.”

Debbi adds, “We love the RL Best Of Sudden daughters for him as well as A Sudden Impulse lines. Overall, we’ve been pleased with a large cross-section of families that look to be a nice blend with him. Geoffrey is a great outcross for many mares that are so line bred with the current popular lines.  We’ve cut down on the diversity in pedigrees, which isn’t always a healthy thing for our animals.”

Makin Me Willy Wild’s breeding fee for 2021 is $1,850 with consideration for producing mares or multiple mares.
