GoHorseShow’s good friend, Kathryn DeVries Mitchell needs help from the horse community. Her beautiful Oak Spring Ranch in Vacaville was devastated Wednesday morning by the California wildfires.
According to Kathryn, her family, which includes two young daughters, lost “both barns and the apartment above the barn; four horses – including my two DIY halter weanlings I was getting ready for Iowa, my great all-around mare, One Hot Sultry Night (Angel), and the great pleasure mare, Too Outrageous.”
Kathryn adds, “There are no words. We also lost two dogs, including the girls’ Boston – Becki. I can’t even imagine how they are going to take that. All the chickens. An RV, both round pens, the silver dodge truck, and the seven-horse trailer.”
“We can’t get deliveries to the ranch for a while, but we are set up at a friend’s place and can have it delivered there or we can work in ways to pick stuff up,” Kathryn told us. “Contact me or Rose (Santos) if you can help at all. Thanks for all your messages and concern, I will get back to everyone as I can.”
