The Oregon Summer Classic was held July 22-27 at the Oregon Horse Center in Eugene, Oregon for the first time. It was previously held in Central Point, Oregon. The weather was beautiful with a high of 82°.
“Beautiful weather, cooler temperatures, and great awards made the drive to Eugene so worth it for us,” says Amateur competitor Taylor Deppen of Chico, California. “The show was completely sold out with every stall full, which made for great, competitive, large classes. The futurities were some of the biggest I’ve seen on the West Coast and gave out beautiful Harris saddles to the winners. This show holds a lot of special memories for me over the years, and this year did not disappoint either, with circuit awards in the Amateur Showmanship and Amateur Western Riding. I will definitely be back next year!”
The show is one of the largest West Coast circuit horse shows in the US, and it regularly draws exhibitors from Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho as well as Texas and beyond.
The show management team worked tirelessly to ensure a safe show environment for all of their exhibitors at this year’s show. Exhibitors were seen sporting masks throughout the show grounds to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
