The September issue of GoMag features the industry’s outstanding horses competing all across the country this fall. Headlining the month, for those who show paint horses, is the APHA Open/Amateur World Championship Show held in Ft. Worth, Texas from September 16-29. Not to be missed is the rescheduled AQHA West Level 1 Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 25-29. Last but not least are those preparing for the All-American Quarter Horse Congress in October.
As we head into another full slate of championship horse shows, we would like to thank the exhibitors, trainers, owners and breeders who are busy preparing for an exciting couple of months ahead. We are humbled by all of our amazing advertisers and readers who recognize that GoHorseShow truly is…Where The Winners Go.

About the Cover
Longtime paint competitor Meredith Landy of Temecula, California and her horse Certified Stride are featured on the September cover of GoMag. Landy has been competing on the APHA show circuit since 1971. She took a 19-year break while she went to college, law school, got married and started practicing law. When Landy made partner, she went out and bought a paint mare and has been showing APHA ever since. “I love the breed, I love the people and I love to show,” she says.
Under the guidance of Empyre Show Horses, Meredith will be showing Certified Stride (Sly), her 16-year-old, all-around gelding in the Masters All-Around classes. “Sly is my long-time show horse. We’ve been showing together since 2012. Before Sly, I never showed a horse longer than two years, but now we are seven years down the road, and I still love to show him. He is precisely what you want in an all-around horse; competitive in both English and Western, great minded and a perfect gentleman. I’ve been sharing him with my daughter Ashlyn this year and Brad Ost and Troy Lehn will be showing him in Sr. Hunter Under Saddle, Sr. Western Riding and Sr. Trail at the Paint World.”
“Brad and Troy are fabulous to work with. Always polite, always positive, always proactive. They have a smart, creative, holistic approach to preparing show horses, from teaching and training to body maintenance and nutrition. And they are both incredible showmen.”
As far as future goals? “Right now, I’m very focused on my breeding program, French Valley Farms. I’ve got some super nice mares who are proven producers of great all-around horses. So, my number one goal is to have one we raised to do well at a big show. I have three nice two-year-old mares that are getting ready to be shown and some beautiful yearlings and weanlings coming up behind them. One of the two-year-olds, Honey Im Sensational (pictured above) will be shown by Simons Show Horses this month at the Paint World, so I’m very excited to see her go.”
Landy adds, “I’ve got my fingers crossed for a great Paint World and wish everyone much luck and success, especially my friends who show with me in the Masters All-Around.”
