Tamara Ray Passes at 52

Tamara Denise Ray (Tammy), age 52, passed away on August 6, 2019 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. She was a resident of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Tamara was born on October 28, 1966 in Pensacola, FL to Thomas Ray and Margaret Ray and moved to Ft. Walton Beach. She was a graduate of Choctawhatchee High School and the University of West Florida where she achieved a Master’s Degree. She began her career in Title Law, but her ultimate passion was showing horses.

Ever since the age of 7, she was riding, jumping, reining, falling off, and loving horses. She acquired many trophies and qualified for the 1988 Olympic Equestrian team competing in South Korea.

Later, life struck and she became a mom three boys. Tamara began to train other riders and help them pursue their own riding ambitions. She was the kind of person that would go out of her way to assist anyone in need and will be deeply missed by all.

Tamara is survived by her three sons, Trent, Trevor, and Travis; Daughter in Law Cathryn; Grandson Austin; Mother, Margaret Ray; Brother, Tim Ray; her pets and many horses.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Road NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will take place at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
