Our readers love fashion and for the sixth consecutive year, the month of May is Fashion Month at GoHorseShow. Fashion Month celebrates everything that makes both people and horses look great in and out of the show pen, including show clothes, accessories, tack, casual wear and equine photography.
The May Fashion Issue of GoMag celebrates the leading fashion designers and brands in our industry as well as many horse and rider teams and product and service providers. Throughout the month of May, look for fashion-forward content and we kick off the month with the May Fashion Issue of GoMag.
The 6th Annual GoMag Fashion Issue features the stunning combination of Emily Schexnayder Miller and her black mare, Sheza Potential Diva. Don’t let this Louisiana native’s beauty and southern charm fool you, “I’m not the stereotypical southern belle,” insists Miller. “I am an avid outdoorsman and it’s my lifestyle. My passion is hunting, fishing and horses.”
You can see more of Emily’s personal style, including her family, her home and her horses starting on Page 77.

About the Cover
The cover of the ever-popular Fashion Issue of GoMag is graced by NSBA World and Congress Champion, Emily Schexnayder Miller of St. Francisville, Louisiana. Miller is featured with her mare, Sheza Potential Diva, who is by Lopin My Best and out of Potentially Gottazip.
After taking a few years off of showing to start a family, “I bought Diva as a yearling from Kathie Kennedy and she went to Highpoint Performance Horses where Brad Ost started training her,” Emily shares. “Brad is showing her this year in the Green Trail and our plan is for her to continue in the Green Junior All-Around. She’s great minded, beautiful and fancy when she moves.”
Miller continues, “Along with Diva, I’m also excited about my new yearling, an English prospect, Good To Be First (Bubba) that I purchased from Beth Case of Highpoint. He’s tall, striking and dark bay, which I love.“ Bubba is by Give Me The Goods and out of First Ride and will stay under the guidance of Highpoint and Case in the two-year old events.
Emily’s cover outfit is by D Designs. “Tammy Dyer has made some gorgeous outfits for me in the past, but when I walked into her trailer and saw this one, I went straight for it. My favorite colors are blue and black, so I was drawn to it. I love the detail and symmetry in this vest, shirt combo.”
Miller and her two young girls, Taylor (5) and Tori (4) (pictured left with husband, Brit), are under the guidance of Empyre Show Horses. “Brad Ost and Troy Lehn are a fantastic team. They both love children and are great with the girls. They also exhibit exquisite sportsmanship and that’s what I really love about them.”
Emily says she loves showing. “All life stops and I have to focus on the exact thing I am doing, whether it be rail work or a pattern. With having two girls and a business, I am nonstop with a million things on my mind. I love a challenge, and showing is a big challenge for me.”
Miller has had success with her past horses, Willy Has Potential and Rip City Zip (pictured right) and is looking forward to continuing her winning ways with her new horses. “My goal for the upcoming year is for Diva to have a successful Green All-Around Junior year. I can’t wait to get in the pen and show her in the trail and western riding. She’s a very striking and talented mare, and I hope we can be successful together.”
