The 2019 Pleasure Versatility Challenge comes with a “twist,” and for the second year in a row is generously sponsored by Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses.
You are invited for PRIME TIME at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, when some of the most talented 3-year-old American Quarter Horses demonstrate their versatility at the Pleasure Versatility Challenge, brought to you by Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses. The Pleasure Versatility Challenge returns this year to the Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The total purse for the 2018 event was more than $40,000 and it’s expected that the 2019 purse will be higher.
Horses competing during the Pleasure Versatility Challenge are shown sequentially in three classes in the Jim Norick Arena: a pattern class, consisting of a blending of simplified trail and western riding maneuvers, which counts 40 percent; a western pleasure class that counts 40 percent; and a conformation class that counts 20 percent.
In a new twist for 2019, horses cannot have been shown ASTRIDE in any western riding, trail or similar versatility event prior to the Lucas Oil World official entry deadline of September 16, 2019. There remains no eligibility restrictions for western pleasure or conformation classes. As of the official entry deadline of September 16 and thereafter, horses may be shown without restriction at any competition and in any classes, including the All American Quarter Horse Congress, without forfeiting PVC eligibility.
You won’t want to miss this competition to see who will take home top prizes and bragging rights as the 2019 Pleasure Versatility Challenge champion.
