On November 18, 2004, United States Senate Resolution 452 recognized December 13 as National Day of the Horse. This day is celebrated annually and encourages people to be mindful of the contribution of horses to the economy, history, and character of the United States. America’s horse is embedded in US history by their use in farm work, helping to bring pioneers to the west, rounding up livestock on ranches, and eventually being utilized in competitive sports like horse shows.
Unlike other sports or hobbies, horses are living, breathing animals that require 24/7 care. This is more than a commitment to another being. It is a lifestyle that we look forward to sharing with our partners, families, and children for years to come. We wouldn’t trade the time that we spend with our beloved horses for the world. Horses are a labor of love that allows us to reap far more than we sow.
