Although you may feel as though you just returned home from the All-American Quarter Horse Congress, there is no time to catch your breath. It’s World Show time!
The November issue of GoMag, our AQHA World Show issue, features many of the wonderful horses competing at the AQHA World Championship show in Oklahoma City in the coming weeks. Due to the quick turn-around time that GoMag’s digital format provides, we are thrilled to showcase many exhibitors featuring their recent wins from the Congress. That includes our cover horse, the gorgeous four-year-old stallion, Gone Viral and owner Kari Craft who just won two western pleasure classes at the Congress.
Breeding season is also just around the corner and the November issue features many of the industry’s top stallions for your offering to breed to next year, including Gone Viral.

Four-year-old, bay stallion Gone Viral, owned by Kari Craft, could not have better momentum going into the AQHA World Show. Affectionately known as “Monkey,” this kind and talented bay stallion won two of the most prestigious classes at this year’s Congress: the Non-Pro Western Pleasure Maturity and the Amateur Western Pleasure. Craft’s trainer, Jason English was also Reserve Champion in the Open Western Pleasure Maturity and third in the Junior Western Pleasure on Monkey.
Gone Viral is a 2014 stallion by No Doubt Im Lazy and out of Suddenly Style N, who is a full sister to The Rock. Earlier this year, this team won the NSBA World Championship in the Junior Western Pleasure which makes Monkey an impressive four-time Congress Champion, three-time Reserve Congress Champion and NSBA World Champion.
Craft’s excitement of winning a Congress Championship in the high-profile Amateur Western Pleasure was captured in this memorable picture by Shane Rux (pictured right). “I just wanted him to win one class at Congress this year, and he accomplished that at the beginning of the show. So, the pressure was off the rest of the time which made it a more relaxed and fun show,” Craft shares.
“In the Amateur Western Pleasure, he was so consistent and I think he was the best he’s ever been with me. When they announced us as the winner, I screamed and leaned down and hit my hat on his neck and my spurs accidentally went into his sides. I’m sure he thought I had lost my mind,” Craft says and laughs.
These past two years have been amazing for Craft and Gone Viral, who has already lived up to his name. Last year, he bred some of the top mares in the industry including One Hot Mouse, Momma Knows Best and Sleep Machine, to name a few.
With the passing of legendary horseman, Gene Parker of Orrum, North Carolina, Craft had to make the difficult decision of moving Monkey to a new breeding facility for the 2019 breeding season. He will stand at Piedmont Equine Associates in Madison, Georgia. Monkey has a breeding special of $1,500 through December 31st, and after that, it goes up to $1,750.
Please contact Piedmont Equine Associates to receive a contract and more information about breeding to this up-and-coming sire. His first foals will hit the ground in 2019. Monkey is also 5-panel negative and eligible for the Color Classic Stallion Service, Premier Quarter Sires, Tom Powers, Super Sires and NSBA Stallion Incentive Fund.
