Smith Performance Horses Making A Debut: Adam Smith Stepping Out On His Own

GoHorseShow is happy to announce trainer Adam Smith is starting his own business. Smith Performance Horses will officially begin accepting customers on November 15th where he will be located in Argyle, Texas at the former Vicky Holt Performance Horses facility.

Smith has been working for Highpoint Performance Horses for the past six and a half years. Before Highpoint, he worked for Brent Tincher and Dale Hamilton. Smith learned many valuable lessons throughout his years with all of his past mentors.

“I’ve learned a lot about the western riding for sure. I feel like that is their main event,” Smith states about what he has learned working with Charlie and Jason. “They taught me a lot more about how to finish a western rider and trail horse.”

Going off on your own is always intimidating, but Smith is eager to start this next chapter in his career. He feels Cole and Martin have helped him get ready to start his own business.

“I don’t know if you ever really feel prepared to start your own business, but I’m looking forward to it,” Smith states. “I’m excited about the opportunity to help clients and their horses achieve their goals.”

Smith plans to focus on the western events but is open to hunt seat horses as well.

“If I get overwhelmed with more than I can handle, I might hire someone for extra help. I mainly do the western riding and trail. I do the western pleasure too, and it’s not limited to just those,” Smith states. “I don’t show in the hunter under saddle events, but I can help with the hunter under saddle and equitation horses.”

Smith has a few horses that will come with him to his new location in Argyle, Texas. He plans to bring in more horses shortly.

“I am bringing one customer with me,” Smith said. “I had horses for this client before I came to Highpoint, and I’ve been showing her horses for years.”

Cole and Martin have great faith in Smith and his abilities. They are excited to see him start his own business and know he will do a fantastic job.

“Adam has been a loyal and great employee for several years,” Cole said. “He has an impeccable work ethic and does well with anything from two-year-olds to senior horses.  I know he will be successful in his new business.”

We want to wish Adam Smith the best of luck as he begins this journey. Be sure to check out his Facebook page for more information.
