With the passing of legendary horseman, Gene Parker of Orrum, North Carolina, Gone Viral’s owner, Kari Craft, had to make the difficult decision of moving “Monkey” to a new breeding facility for the 2019 breeding season. Craft and her trainers, Jason and Jamie English, would like to announce that he will stand at Piedmont Equine Associates in Madison, Georgia. “Every staff member there is a veterinarian, and they specialize in reproduction, and he’s only 15 minutes from my house,” Craft told us which was a significant factor in her decision.
“Gene was such a huge part of Monkey’s life and was someone that I could put full trust in while Monkey was at his farm,” Kari shares. “Jason and I credit every bit of his success in his first year of breeding to Gene, and we were looking forward to many more years of working with him. We are still heartbroken over the loss.”
Jason English adds, “It is just a huge loss for the entire industry with the passing of Gene. There aren’t many true horsemen left who know about all aspects of the business including the breeding, riding and halter. Everyone who knew him will miss him.”
Last year couldn’t have been better for Kari Craft and her young stallion, Gone Viral. This talented and breathtaking stallion took the show arena by storm and racked up numerous wins at the most prestigious events in the country. Gone Viral has already lived up to his name in one show season, and there has already been a high demand for him in the breeding arena. Last year, he bred some of the top mares in the industry including One Hot Mouse, Momma Knows Best and Sleep Machine, to name a few.
Monkey is a 2014 stallion by No Doubt Im Lazy out of Suddenly Style N, who is a full sister to The Rock. He is a three-time Congress Champion and three-time Reserve Congress Champion. At this year’s Congress, Craft and Monkey won the Non-Pro Maturity Western Pleasure Stakes class and English was Reserve in the Open Maturity Western Pleasure. The bay stallion also has the Junior and Amateur Western Pleasure left to go later in the show.
Gone Viral has a breeding special of $1,500 through December 31st, and after that, it goes up to $1,750. Please contact Piedmont Equine Associates to receive a contract and more information about breeding to this up-and-coming sire. His first foals will hit the ground in 2019. Monkey is also 5-panel negative and eligible for the Color Classic Stallion Service, Premier Quarter Sires, Tom Powers, Super Sires and NSBA Stallion Incentive Fund.
