GoMag: September Pre-Congress and APHA World Show Issue Online Now

On the heals of a jam-packed month of August, September is the month when many turn their focus to preparing for the All-American Quarter Horse Congress. Not to be overlooked during the month of September are all of the halter horses and exhibitors competing at the Breeders Halter Futurity in Des Moines, Iowa from September 12-16.  Additionally, the APHA Open/Amateur World Championship Show is in Ft. Worth, Texas from September 17-30.

The September issue of GoMag features the industry’s leading Congress, Breeders Futurity and APHA World Show exhibitors.  As we head into another fall slate of horse shows, we would like to thank everyone for making this year’s September issue the best ever. We are humbled by all of our amazing advertisers and readers who recognize that GoHorseShow truly is…Where The Winners Go.

Last month at the NSBA World Show, GoHorseShow announced that Susan Juroe of Longmont, Colorado, purchased AQHA World, NSBA World and Congress Champion, Lope With Grace. Juroe acquired this gorgeous, bay, three-year-old mare from Halle Saywell Baldwin of Boerne, Texas and we are thrilled to have this new team grace the September cover of GoMag.

Lope With Grace (Ellie) is just off an outstanding NSBA World Show where Aaron Moses won the Three Year Old BCF and Color Western Pleasure and former owner, Halle ended on a high note by winning the Three-Year-Old Open Non-Pro Western Pleasure to finish out their career.

“She is so big and striking!” says the new owner, Susan Juroe, about her new horse. “Being 5’ 9” myself, we were on the lookout for a big pleasure horse since that is one of my favorite classes.”

According to Juroe’s trainer, Shannon Gillespie, the other exciting element is that Susan’s passion has been showing and breeding Paint horses, so with Ellie having her APHA papers, she is very excited for her to go to the 2018 APHA World Show. Under the supervision of Aaron Moses Show Horses and Gillespie Show Horses, the mare, by Lazy Loper, will be shown in the solid pleasure and performance halter classes as well as the futurity events in Fort Worth.

At the Quarter Horse Congress, Ellie will be shown by Aaron and Susan in the three-year-old western pleasure futurity classes. “I love working with Susan,” Aaron says. “She has a great attitude and she’s fun to be around.”

One notable fact is that Ellie’s dam, Gifted Invitation has amassed over $71,000 in NSBA earnings and placed in the Top 5 at the AQHA World Show in the Two-Year-Old, Amateur and Junior Western Pleasure.

Following in her talented mother’s footsteps, last year, Ellie won two of the most prestigious classes in the industry; the Coughlin Two-Year-Old Western Pleasure Class at the Congress and the AQHA World Show in the Two-Year-Old Western Pleasure, both with Moses in the saddle.

“When I tried her out, I loved her immediately,” Gillespie told us. “She is a stunning western pleasure horse, but she also has a huge all-around career in her future.”

Until then, Ellie will be staying with Moses Show Horses for the foreseeable future as she finishes up her three-year-old year and winter circuits and Susan prepares to show her at the Select World in 2019. Best of luck to this fantastic new team in the future.
