In April of this year, The American Quarter Horse Association announced that 2018 would be the last time the Adequan Select World Championship Show would be held in Amarillo, TX, naming the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas as the new location for 2019, 2020 and 2021.
With the Select World currently underway in Amarillo for the last time, undoubtedly many memories and a lot of nostalgia are swirling throughout the show grounds for several long time exhibitors. Mixed reviews throughout the years had some urging for a move while others seemed to resist the change. In this one last trail of tears trip down memory lane, GoHorseShow wanted to find out everyone’s thoughts about the show moving next year.

Per AQHA’s prior press release:
“We are looking forward to building a relationship with the Will Rogers Memorial Center to provide a more centrally located facility and potentially expand the size of this event,” said Pete Kyle, AQHA chief show officer in a press release distributed earlier this year.
AQHA and the Will Rogers Memorial Center have agreed to a three-year contract covering the 2019-21 Adequan® Select Worlds. The tentative dates for the show are August 21-31, and the qualifying period will be June 1, 2018, to May 31, 2019.
Established in Fort Worth in 1936, the Will Rogers Memorial Center attracts in excess of 2 million visitors each year to the cultural district. The 120-acre facility plays host to an extensive variety of cultural, corporate, educational and sporting events including many international-level equestrian and livestock shows.
