About the Cover

On the cover of the January issue of GoMag is up-and-coming sire, The Lopin Machine. “Clyde” is a 2012 AQHA chestnut stallion sired by the late, great, A Good Machine and out of one of the all-time great show mares and producers, Hot Lopin Louise. His dam is a three-time Congress Champion and out of one of the most prolific broodmares in the industry, Born Lopin.

North Farm, owned by Debbi Trubee and Roger Landis, is standing The Lopin Machine for the 2018 breeding season. The Lopin Machine is a Congress Masters Champion as well as a Congress Reserve Champion in the Three Year-Old Western Pleasure.

“We are beyond excited to be a part of this outstanding stallion’s future and a huge thank you to Rawlings Enterprises, LLC and Starnes Quarter Horses for choosing us to stand their stallion,” Trubee told us. “Clyde is very well respected by the horse show community and trainers from watching him show, so he has bred a lot of the top mares in the country.”

The Rawlings family of Australia purchased Clyde at six months old. Kristy Starnes says that her husband, Jay, knew immediately he was special.

“He had more self-carriage and presence than any foal we had ever seen. He was very willing to please while training him up to be the 2014 Congress Masters Champion,” Kristy told us. “We have several yearlings by him at our place, and they are all fancy. We even have one out of a hunter under saddle mare that is incredible. It has his body size and the height of his dam. We got the best of both worlds in this filly. All of his foals are correct through their legs and have strong hips and toplines. We are excited to get to ride them in 2019.”

The Lopin Machine’s stud fee for the 2018 season is $2,250. Please contact Debbi Trubee at 740-815-3545 or via email at [email protected].

His 2017 foals are eligible for the lucrative Western Pleasure Super Sires program. Don’t forget to nominate your foals by December 31. For more information visit www.westernpleasuresupersires.com
