Get Well Wishes for Steve Ferguson after Heart Surgery

GoHorseShow would like to send get well wishes to halter trainer and judge, Steve Ferguson of Tyler, Texas after undergoing heart surgery.

According to longtime friend Kathy Snodgrass, “He’s home and doing well. He went in for a routine checkup, EKG and stress test, and his cardiologist thought it would be good to have a heart catheterization. That test revealed two blockages that required bypass surgery.”

Steve had surgery on Monday of last week and went home Saturday.

“He’s doing very well and will make a full recovery,” Kathy states. “He should be ‘back in the saddle,’ so to speak, in about six weeks.”

Ferguson will continue to oversee Twin Lakes Farm’s foaling and breeding operation with Dennis and Terry Daryl. Steve’s wife, March, is in the medical business and is helping him get back on his feet.

“I saw him last week after surgery and will see him again later this week. We’ve been friends for years,” Kathy states. “Many of Steve’s fellow trainers and friends in the equine world have reached out to him and March. They greatly appreciated all the well wishes and prayers. He’s very lucky this was caught before any symptoms or a heart attack.”
