Machine Made Sires First AQHA World Champion in Junior Western Riding

GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Kristy McCann and Sucha Machine on taking home the gold in the Junior Western Riding at the AQHA World Championship show with a score of a 223. “Cooper” is a 2012 brown gelding by Machine Made and out of Shes So Sizzlin by RL Best Of Sudden. This talented gelding is owned by Kelly Lake of Arlee, Montana.

“I thought my ride was very good. He was a little nervous of the log and ferns and we jumped the log at the lope, but it frazzled me probably more than it did him,” Kristy McCann told us about her ride. “We bought Cooper for his owners sight unseen, and what was funny was that when I saw the video of him, I immediately liked him but I had no idea he was by Machine Made. Of course, when I found out, it made perfect sense.”

machine made“It is pretty special to be the one to ride a Machine Made baby to his sire’s first AQHA World Championship,” McCann told us, who currently shows and trains the stallion fondly known as “Hershel” for owners Drs. Cory Seebach and Candice Hall of Black Creek, British Columbia. “All of Hershel’s babies are good minded, really good in the shoulders, have good drive and are very trainable. Cooper’s owner, Kelly Lake, has plans to show him next year.” (pictured right Candice with Hershel at the 2016 AQHA World Show)

Dr. Candice Hall was understandably emotional when talking about Cooper being the first AQHA World Champion by her stallion. “I just couldn’t be more happy about it. I am so proud of him and Kristy and Cooper and everything they have accomplished,” she told us after the class.

Hall’s horse, Cool Coastin Lady ended up fourth in the class, but Candice says she was cheering as much for the Machine Made baby to do well. “Cooper reminds me a lot of his dad. He has that same big-eyed, adorable, nose poked outlook. He is super cadenced and athletic and there is just something about Machine Made babies that make them great lead changers.”

Hall told us that Machine Made’s oldest foals are four-year-olds this year. “I was really excited to see that there were two of his babies in the finals. In the near future, I can see an explosion of his babies doing the trail and western riding because they are athletic, cadenced and trainable. It’s so exciting.”
