Normally when a stallion starts their breeding career, they are usually finished with their showing career. Jan Shepherd Pittman of Panama City, Florida had other ideas for her stallion, VS Code Blue (Peyton). In March of this year, Pittman bought the 2007 roan stallion from Donna Biddulph of Oliver, British Columbia. Earlier this week, Cody Parrish showed Peyton in the Senior Western Riding at the Congress (view video below). While he didn’t place, it was Peyton’s first step to making a comeback of dramatic proportions.
“I was so thrilled with his performance at the Congress because until a few months ago, he hadn’t been ridden in four years,” Pittman told us inside the Gilligan Barn at Congress. “Our plans are for Cody to get this superior in the western riding so he can also win his AQHA Performance Championship.”
Additionally, Pittman hopes to show Peyton herself as well. “Next year, hopefully, I can qualify to show him in the western riding at the AQHA Select World Show. He is so sweet and just perfect for a non-pro like me to ride even though he is a stallion.”
Pittman’s Breeding Manager, Scott Kesney adds, “Peyton being able to be in full blown breeding mode and then just go back to a show horse is amazing. I think he looks fantastic in the short amount of time Cody has been riding him.”
VS Code Blue is currently at the Congress. If you would like to meet him and talk about breeding specials or see him in person, please call Scott Kesney at 727-207-6384 or visit his website here. View a slideshow of him below.
