VIDEO: Kelly McDowall Breaks Down 2016 Congress Youth and Amateur Horsemanship Pattern

Every year, GoHorseShow has broken down the patterns at the Congress, but this year we are doing things a little differently and utilizing video to illustrate the pattern.  We have enlisted the guidance of esteemed AQHA and NSBA judge, Kelly McDowall of Franktown, Colorado to explain the pattern used for three of the horsemanship classes: 12-14, 15-18, and Amateur.

Kelly McDowall has coached multiple World and Congress Champions in multiple events, including horsemanship. In fact, his son Klay was the 2014 AQHYA World Champion in Horsemanship.

In the video, you can listen to McDowall as he talks through the pattern and then watch Natalia DeVencenty and Chex Is The Choice perform the pattern as McDowall discusses the ins and outs of what he is looking for in a winning performance.

We would like to thank Kelly, Natalia, and Chex for their time and for doing such a great job and special thanks to EB Combs of Rowel Marketing for directing the video which included the field production, shooting, and editing. Additionally, we would like to thank HorseShowPatterns.com for allowing us to post the pattern which you can see below (as well as in the video).
