After witnessing a heartbreaking trailer accident that took the lives of two of his client’s show horses on their way to the Congress, it has undoubtedly been an emotional week for Tom Roberston of Adrian, Michigan. On Tuesday, Robertson took home the Congress Grand Champion Gelding prize with Coos Me In The Dark.
The three-year-old black gelding, affectionately known as “Kobe”, is by Kid Coolsified and out of RTH Style and Grace. His maternal grandsire is Kids Classic Style. This striking gelding is owned by 50-year breeder, Theodore Lincoln of Freeland, Michigan and was bred by Kelli Jensen of Freeland, Michigan.
“Kobe is just a wonderful horse with a great personality that is the same every day,” Robertson told us right after his win as he was walking out of the arena.
“He is beautiful and just a pleasure to be around,” Robertson told us. “He has some great years in front of him and I can’t wait to continue his show career.”
Robertson was also adamant that he wanted his helpers in the picture because Robertson says that he couldn’t have gotten to the winner’s circle by himself.
Earlier on Tuesday, Robertson also placed first in the yearling geldings with owner Ted Lincoln’s other horse, Stallone, in the Open Yearling Geldings.
GoHorseShow asked how everyone was doing following the accident. “Everybody is, fortunately, doing very well,” Robertson told us.
We would like to congratulate Tom Roberston on having an outstanding day in the halter pen.
