August is a big and busy month for horse show enthusiasts all over the world. The August 2016 issue of GoMag features the very best horses, products and services in our NSBA and Select World Show and European Championship issue.  The month kicks off with outstanding youth riders and their horses competing at the AQHYA World Championship show in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from August 5-13.

Meanwhile, over 5,000 miles away, the AQHA European Championship is held in Kreuth, Germany. GoMag’s digital-only platform is easily accessed by everyone with a computer or smartphone. We are thrilled to see many faces of European competitors in this issue as they prepare for their headline show of the year.

Back in the United States, the NSBA World Championship show takes place August 13-21 in Tulsa, Oklahoma shortly followed by the AQHA Select World in Amarillo, Texas. We wish everyone much success and safe travels.

“Carson is like a puppy dog. He loves attention, is happy to see people, enjoys his job and always tries to please,” Adria shares. “I enjoy showing Carson as he is reliable in the pen and fun to show. You can’t help but smile when you are showing him.”

Adria recognizes many traits in the four-year-old sorrel gelding that have been passed on by his #1 Equistat Hunter Under Saddle sire. “Carson’s great personality is the strongest trait I see. He’s so great minded. Physically, his strong foot and bone structure and great neck are traits we see in the foals sired by These Irons Are Hot and Carson is no exception.”

Adria’s parents have recently passed away, but she says she felt like they were guardian angels on her shoulders when she won her class at the Level 1 Championships. “It is a very special win that I will always cherish. I told myself that morning that my ride would be dedicated to my parents, so winning was even sweeter. I was blessed to have the most supportive parents throughout my entire riding career.”

My-Invitations-R-Hot-Adria-Smith-NSBA-World-Champion-2015_cropUnder the guidance of Carl and Trish Yamber, Adria will show Carson in the hunter under saddle classes at the NSBA World Show and then the Congress and AQHA World Show.

She is also happy to announce that she will be donating a portion of These Irons Are Hot’s breeding fee to the NSBA Foundation Heroes on Horses and Equestrians with Disabilities Program.

Adria would like to thank Amy Gumz for her outstanding breeding management and care of These Irons Are Hot. “I could not do this without Amy’s wisdom and thoughtful guidance. Amy’s support is unending. Lastly, thank you to my cherished friends for standing by me during my journey with the loss of my parents.”
