The 69th National Appaloosa Horse Show is currently underway at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show just finished up with several youth winning great prizes and making forever memories with their friends.
“The show has had some great competition from Connecticut to Washington state and everywhere in between,” Amateur Kelly Sweeney told us who shows with Pat Odell Performance Horses. On Saturday, there was a social provided by a group of Non Pros that have gotten together and raised money to hold a ‘Non-Pro Rodeo’at the ApHC Nationals which included drinks, dinner, a mechanical bull, DJ and dancing.”
Sweeney told us that it has been quite warm in Fort Worth, but the people driving around in golf carts handing out water has been a nice bonus. “The camaraderie between all of the youths has been amazing to watch. The high fives, hugs and fist bumps when one of their friends wins and even if it means they beat them, so nice to see. Everyone is super friendly and it’s nice to see some new faces.”
