All Time Great Dam, Dotevita Passes at 26

Masterson Farms LLC is sad to inform the industry of the passing of the great mare, Dotevita. The 1990 sorrel mare was sired by Zippo Jack Bar and out of the mare, Big Daddy Bonanza.

Dotevita had a total of 23 foals, 15 of which are performers. Her foals have earned a total of 3,486.5 AQHA points, $86,718.23 at the AQHA World Championship Show and a total of $333,161.25 in NSBA money earnings.

“I’m saddened to hear about the passing of Vino’s mom,” says Darcy Reeve, who owns the mare’s legendary son, A Certain Vino. “She truly produced some amazing horses and her dominating features show in her babies. She was truly one of the greatest dams of our time.”

Potential Diva earned a total of 498.5 performance points and was an AQHA World and Reserve World Champion. The 2000 bay mare by Certain Potential and out of Dotevita was one of the most accomplished western pleasure horses of this decade. Diva was the 2004 NSBA Horse of the year and that year she was AQHA Reserve World Champion in Junior Western Pleasure with Rusty Green as well as Top-10 at the AQHYA World Show with Andrea Thompson. Diva won nearly $100,000 in NSBA and AQHA money. In 2008, Diva and Green were named the AQHA World Champions in the Senior Western Pleasure. The mare passed away in November of 2009.

“She was by far, the nicest horse I had the opportunity to ride at that time in my career. To this day, Diva (pictured left) is still my all-time favorite horse,” Rusty stated. “She carried me to my first AQHA World Championship in Senior Western Pleasure in 2008. I’m forever indebted to her for all she taught me through the years.”
