Congress is not only a place for great showing and great shopping, but it is also the prime opportunity to see some of the most famous Quarter Horses in the country. Like people, all horses have their own individual personalities that make them special. Whether they are quirky and outgoing, or quiet and shy, our horses have certain traits that uniquely set them apart from one another.
We decided to ask several owners of famous horses a fun, light-hearted question: Who would their horse be if they were a famous person? There were many humorous responses from Elvis Presley to Betty White. Also, lucky for you, if you are into being starstruck at the Congress, the majority of these horses can be seen at the Congress.
VS Flatline (pictured above) and Kristen Galyean – I would have to say Kobe is like having Elvis enter the building at horse shows. He knows he is something special and you can tell by just looking at him that he is performing for the audience every time he enters the show pen. His ears are up and he loves every minute of it. He has a very powerful presence and with his jaw dropping good looks you just can’t take your eyes off of him.
Machine Made and Dr. Candice Hall – Machine Made would be Sylvester “Sly” Stallone. He is a stocky athletic beefcake with those dark and droopy bedroom eyes!
Its A Southern Thing and Amy Gumz – Moonpie has multiple famous personalities. He has the looks and athleticism of David Beckham as he is sexy, talented, and loves getting his photo taken and receiving attention. Moonpie also has the talking and womanizing techniques of Jack Nicholson!
Harley D Zip and Kerry Papendick – Harley D Zip would be Bret Favre. He is an athlete and very accomplished in his sport, the quarterback nonetheless. Like Favre, Harley is very smart and he is a good-looking Northern man. He is also retired but still healthy.
RPL My Te Cheerful and Monica Hamm – Henry would be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. While Henry is a beautiful muscular beast, he still has the kindest heart. Henry loves children and pleasing others. Even at 11 years old, he still loves to show and can’t wait for the next horse show.
Hours Yours And Mine and Kaleena Weakly – If Blondie were a famous person, we have always said that she would be Jennifer Lopez aka J-Lo. She always has time for a photo-op and loves getting her picture taken. She is also very proud of her hair and her booty.
Vital Signs Are Good and Theresa Moran – If Lucy were a famous person she would be a mix of two people. Firstly, she would be George Clooney’s stunning wife, Amal Clooney because she is talented, beautiful and intelligent. Secondly, she would be Kris Jenner because she lives vicariously through her children.
Rewind And Repeat and Jenna Dempze – If ReRun were a person he’d be athletic, handsome, charismatic, confident, cool, and have lots of swagger. I think he would be Aaron Rodgers – the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers is the best in the league. He makes his job look effortless, and he’s clutch when it’s a big game. He also has a fun but sometimes silly personality.
A Certain Vino and Darcy Reeve – Vino would be 11-time Olympic medalist swimmer, Ryan Lochte. He knows he’s good at what he does, and that he is beautiful, all the while being extremely talented and gorgeous.
Ima Petite Classic and Darcy Reeve – Kramer can never be compared to anyone, ever. He is one-of-a-kind. He is like one of those characters in a horror movie that is too scared to join the group at first, but then saves everyone in the end!
VS Code Red and Kristen Galyean – Waylon would be NBA All-Star, Kevin Durant. He has a God gifted athletic ability that is ahead of his time. As a two year-old, he was so big, powerful, and had the strongest natural lift. He makes everything look so effortless, because it is truly that easy for him. When it comes to his personality, that’s just icing on the cake. He is the kindest soul and he loves people and would do anything for them. He lets my three year-old daughter crawl all over him when he is laying down sleeping in his stall. You can see him light up when she brings him carrots. He is just a total joy to be around.
Blazinmytroublesaway (pictured far left) and Deanna Green – If Buttercup were a famous person, she would without a doubt be Betty White. She is cute and feisty at times, but no matter how old she gets, she never loses her young spirit.
Bestseatnthehouse and Deanna Green – If Jodi were a famous person, she would be Giselle Bündchen. Jodi is one of the most exotic and beautiful horses and she knows it. When she walks into the arena, she demands attention. Her ears are always forward and she is putting on a show. Jodi also loves having her picture taken. She is very particular and will not get on a trailer without a ramp and will not back out unless she can see behind her. She loves being brushed and if she knows that you are making her look pretty, she is all about it.
Doodle Jump and Jenna Jacobs – If Doodle Jump were a famous person, I think he would be Ashton Kutcher. Not only is he one of the most handsome guys, he is goofy, super cute and is silly behind the scenes. When Doodle is just “hanging out at the stalls”, he loves visiting everyone and is very social. However, when he is in the arena in front of cameras, he puts his “game face” on and gets ready for his performance. He’s definitely a people person, but is also insanely talented in multiple areas.
Zips Bossy Chip and Ellexxah Maxwell – Annie B would be Amelia Earhart because she likes to take flight and she also loves to break records. Annie likes to prove to everyone that women or (mares) can do anything just as well as the boys. She also loves an adventure and is constantly doing something magnificent. Annie may get lost in the Bermuda Triangle sometimes mentally, but she always manages to inspire all who watch her perform.
Dark Jasmine and Brianna Tamulewicz – If Dark Jasmine were a famous person, she would be Kim Kardashian. I could definitely see her being a fashion icon and she loves being pampered. She would take endless amounts of selfies, too!
