The Michigan Quarter Horse Association put on their usual fun filled Easter Eggstravaganza April 2nd through the 5th at the MSU Pavilion in East Lansing, Michigan. Many people were looking forward to the show after Michigan’s tough winter.
“It was awesome to see friends after a long break,” Michigan horse show mom, Kimm McDowell states. “The weather cooperated so the outdoor warm up pens could be used, and the sun was shining for the annual Easter Egg hunt held for the eager children racing to see what goodies they would find.”
A nice Easter breakfast was served to exhibitors as well as a pizza party Saturday night. New classes were offered this year, including driving classes which drew a large spectator attendance. Another change this year was the addition of judges, making a total of six. The judges included: Brad Kearns, Tanya Green, Dawn Clason, Stephanie Lynn, and John and Betsy Tuckey.
Competition was deep, especially in the youth and amateur classes, making for a few late nights, but this show was a great kick off to Spring and MQHA’s horse show season.
