UPDATE: The auction has been extended through Sunday, December 21, 8PM CST.
GoHorseShow is helping get the word out about a Facebook auction friends and family organized to help AQHA World Champion trainer, Brad Ost. Ost was severely injured in an ATV accident a few months ago. The auction will be held on Saturday, December 20th to help raise more money to pay his outstanding medical bills. Some of the items donated include breedings to Hot Ones Only, VS Code Red, VS Flatline, and Slick By Design as well as items signed by Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Petty and Adam Petty. The entire list of items available are shown below as well as the rules for the auction. It will start at 2pm on Saturday and end promptly at 8pm.
Brad’s sister, Megan Zenter has confirmed with the post office that items shipped on Monday, December 22nd can be guaranteed to be delivered by December 24th in time for Christmas. Brad has composed a letter to thank everyone for their support.
Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you so much for your support over the last couple of months. It has been a whirlwind to say the least. After my accident, I spent thirteen days in the hospital – nine of those being in ICU. This was the scariest and most painful experience of my life. I faced some very dark days in that ICU, as the doctors were not sure why my lung was not healing. I thought, in those moments that my life and a career I worked so hard for, were over. A lung specialist finally recommended having surgery to get in and see what was going on with the lung. He removed a portion of my rib that was piercing my lung as well as a liter of blood. The surgery was a success and I was sure I was on the road to recovery! My post-op labs revealed a different story. My kidney levels were way too high – I heard the nurse say kidney failure and it felt again like I was back at square one. They took quick action, and the kidney specialist was able to change my meds and bring my levels back to normal. It meant a few more days in ICU but from that point on, my healing progressed rapidly. Miraculously, I made a full recovery, thanks to the highly skilled doctors and all the prayers.
Unfortunately, my medical bills still exceed $100,000. Some very caring and generous people have been collecting donations for an online silent auction to help cover these expenses.
Thank you again, I am completely humbled by all your support!
~Brad
