Machine Made’s first foal crop is off to great success. His first foal to show, Maid U Look, won the Limited Two Year-Old Western Pleasure class at the Little Futurity on Monday with Kyle DeFreece in the saddle.
“It is so much fun seeing the first Machine Made hit the show pen,”
owner, Dr. Cory Seebach says. “His ability as a show horse and now a sire are a true
testament to the qualities of both his sire, A Good Machine, and his
dam, Gypsys Little Image.”
Maid U Look’s trainer, Kyle DeFreece, admittedly has a connection with the filly. “First off, I can’t express enough how special this filly is to me. Not only in talent but also with her history. My folks raised her, and my girlfriend, Katie Johnson, bought her last year out of the Reichert Sale. She’s been the easiest two year-old I’ve ever had hands down. She gets better and better every day, and it seems as though her sole goal is to please. I’m very blessed to have her.”
The young filly’s owner, Katie Johnson of Chipley, Florida adds, “We weren’t really planning on doing the early futurities, but she came along so quick–we figured we’d give it a try. She was really good in the class, just went out and did her job.”
According to Machine Made’s breeding manager, Kim Dean, this is the first crop of M&M two year-olds to hit the show pen.
“We’re very happy for Kyle DeFreece and Maid U Look winning the Limited Two’s at the Little Futurity and starting the show season off right for the Machine Made’s. It’s rare when a young stallion gets the opportunity to breed as many nice mares as Machine Made has in the past couple of years,” Dean states. “We are extremely grateful to the trainers that have bred so many of their own mares and to all of the amazing mare owners that have had faith in this talented young horse.”
Dean told GoHorseShow that Machine Made’s owners, Drs. Candice Hall and Cory Seebach are terrific to work with and Rick and Kim McDonald have done a great job in the breeding barn getting so many mares in foal.
Dean adds, “We look forward to the upcoming show season and wish much success to everyone in the futurities.”
