The second annual Show For Dough is in the books. Over $84,000 was paid out in five days, not to mention all of the amazing prizes that were given away. Three Kathy Williams Tails, two $1,000 gift certificates to Blue Ribbon Custom Tack, one Blue Ribbon work saddle, 15 Cinch Vouchers, two night free stay at the Plantation Suites in Port Arkansas, TX, and NSBA Medals were all given out throughout the show. Today, the most wins by an open rider in the Color classes and most wins by a non pro horse and rider combination were each awarded a check for $500. Congratulations to Kristen Layher our Open winner and Michele Sloan the Non Pro winner. All in all, it was a fantastic horse show with a great turn out. Personally, I was happy to see the all around numbers growing. Each all around class was larger this year, and I am confident they will continue to grow! The Show For Dough is such a great concept, and I cannot wait to see it start to catch on. Mark your calendars to make this great event next year. Where you can have a great time AND make money while doing it! (Whether that be in the casino or the show arena)

Day 4, Saturday May 10, 2014

What a day! Over $30,000 paid over 16 classes! That’s a grand total of $74,200 with one day left to go here in Tunica. The highlight of the day was the signature class. Eleven horses walked into the arena to compete for $22,000 in the Three Year Old $2,500 Limited horse Western Pleasure that GoHorseShow co-sponsored for the second year. With all six judges judging, and ALL six judges cards counting (none dropped) the battle began. And it was a battle! In the end it was Rusty Green and Rock County Kid who came out on top winning $7,480, a close second was Randy Wilson and Certainly On Sundi, and third went to Andy Cochran and Suddenly Extreme. This class was so much fun to watch and I think everyone would agree that all 11 of those horses were great three year-olds. Thanks to GoHorseShow.com–the top ten exhibitors walked out of the arena with a gift certificate for a free ad in the GoMag! Also, Tate Oakley was awarded the Blue Ribbon Show For Dough saddle for being the highest placing Intermediate rider. Thank you Blue Ribbon Custom tack for donating that saddle. We have one more day left of showing, then everyone will take their money and head home!

Blake and that same mare will be taking home around $3,600 from the week! Exhibitors started moving in to the Tunica Arena and Expo yesterday (Monday) and today for the Show For Dough. I arrived this afternoon, and people were up and about getting horses ready for the show tomorrow. This time around, I will not be showing. Instead, I will be behind the scenes working with the awesome show management. This year’s show is double the size of last year with tons of money up for grabs!

Show For Dough is such a great concept, especially for someone like myself who is an all-around exhibitor. We rarely get the chance to win money. I wish I was showing here, but maybe next year! Brad, Dave and Charles really have it figured out. 100% (ONE HUNDRED PERCENT) of your entry fee is paid out to the class. Hard to believe, right? I can promise you…no tricks or gimmicks.

Today, we were walking through the stalls with pizza at lunchtime making sure everyone had gotten to eat. The exhibitor-friendly atmosphere is really going to make this show one you will not want to miss. The show kicks off at noon tomorrow and runs through Sunday.

I wish everyone the best of luck, but more importantly, ENJOY YOURSELVES!! We hope for an awesome horse show! For those of you not here, make sure to add it to your list for next year. Come, win money, and have fun.
