The MAQHA Easter Eggstravaganza was held April 17 through the 20th at the MSU Pavillion in East Lansing, Michigan. The judges for the show were Pierre Briere, Leonard Berryhill, Murray Griggs and Robin Griggs. All four shows counted for MQHA points and they had a flat fee of $310 that covered unlimited classes, a stall, and fees for one horse. There were over 3,000 entries for the entire show.
“The Easter Eggstravaganza was a fun show with tough competition,” says Amateur Brandy Baldwin-Bunting who won the Amateur All-Around at the show with her horse, Chevrolatte. “The weekend was filled with events to remember and celebrate Easter such as a Cowboys for Christ service, an Easter Morning Breakfast and an Easter Egg and Money hunt for the kids. MQHA gave nice Circuit Awards and All Around Prizes and a large bag of goodies for the Lead Liners. It was a great show and several classes had to be split.”
“This show was unusual in the fact that there were so many new exhibitors and many of them were entire families,” says Horse Show Mother, Kimm McDowell. “In fact, the large number of new faces did not go unnoticed by many MQHA members. Maybe all the first time Exhibitors were drawn to this show because of all the family oriented activities, or maybe they all decided to come because Michigan finally decided to let winter go and welcome spring, but for whatever reason it was wonderful to welcome new people to the Michigan show scene.”
