After six years of planning and renovating their estate known as, Gut Jaidhof, Cathrin and Guntard Gutmann are pleased to announce the opening of The Salutory in Austria. The Salutory will be holding an opening celebration on March 22 and invites everyone to attend and take a tour of the facility.
There will be a presentation by The Salutory team as well as a lecture by veterinarian, Prof. Dr. Florian Buchner, who is a specialist in lameness diagnostics, biomechanics, physiotherapy and rehabilitation at Austrias biggest veterinary clinic. After the lecture, there will be a presentation of all the equipment and a buffet.
“We are very happy about joining forces with The Salutory and bringing their services to Austria,” says Cathrin Gutmann, who is known best in the United States for showing Blue Couture in the hunter under saddle events. “Not only are we happy about it as horse people, but we also think it is a great opportunity for the European equine society, and, of course, Gut Jaidhof–it really fits into everything we do very well.”
The Salutory is an equine health and rehabilitation center based in Germany near Munich. The Salutory offers services on what they like to call a Five Star Program. It comprises five areas that are essential for every sports horse: Recovery, Rehabilitation, Prevention, Regeneration and Conditioning. The new center located in Austria will be in addition to their main German facility. The Salutory is owned and operated by Johanna Oswald along with her husband, Martin.
Oswald is an equine physiotherapist and a very successful competitor at the European Quarter Horse Shows. Her sister, Jadasa Jablonowski (Dasi), is also a well known trainer and graphic designer.
Due to her involvement in the quarter horse business, Oswald got in touch and toured several equine rehab facilities in the States and decided to open up this type of business in Europe. Besides manual physiotherapy, the facility is equipped with state of the art technical equipment like an aqua-treadmill with saltwater and cooling option, treadmill, vibra-plate, and an infrared-cabin to name a few.
At Gut Jaidhof, The Salutory has 11 stalls –all of them with rubber-matted floors. Some stalls are also available with attached outside paddocks–everything is designed to meet the highest standards in the industry.
“Not only will the horses have the best care possible by the team at The Salutory but they will also be surrounded by nature and housed in a first class facility,” Cathrin says.
