Good times are happening in Australia, and many of us in the United States are wishing we were there enjoying their warm weather. Since the seasons are switched, it is currently summer down under! The Lady Winecroft GV Summer Sizzler is held February 19th through the 23rd at Tatura Park in Tatura, Victoria. The event is open to all stock breeds–currently, there is close to 200 horses on the fairgrounds. The judge for the show is Leonard Berryhill of Oklahoma.
“It is a great country, great people and there are some nice horses!” says Farley Sliss, who is in Australia with her husband, Saul, who is showing in some of the futurity classes. Farley and Saul have ties to Australia as Saul shows Selah Park Pleasure Horses’ stallion, Potentially Lazy, in the States for owner Nicole Brunker.
The money classes featured include the Jacaranda Park $15,000 Three Year-old Pleasure Slot Class, The $5,000 Gold Pass Three Year-Old and Over Maiden Western Pleasure, Solitaire Performance Horses $5,000 Open Hunter Under Saddle, Selah Park $3,000 Three Year-Old Hunter Under Saddle and Rockin Horse Ranch $4,000 Four and Five Year-Old Western Pleasure class.
