Art
and Donna Biddulph of British Columbia, Canada, couldn’t help but love their foal
born on Valentine’s Day in 2009. He was, by definition, bred in the purple: by World Champion producing stallion, RL Best Of Sudden, and out of 13-time AQHA World Champion and World
Champion producer, Vital Signs Are Good. The Biddulphs aptly named their Valentine’s Day roan stud
colt My Vital Valentine, and were justifiably optimistic about his future. They
have not been disappointed.
The
Valentine’s Day foal was “so cute and fluffy as a baby,” recalls
owner, Donna Biddulph. Despite maturing into one of the most dominant young
western riding and trail horses competing today, and a stallion to boot, the nickname “Fluffy” has stuck.
“His
barn name is Fluffy, which I think is a great name, but he has far too much
swag to be a Fluffy. He is one of the most talented horses I have ever worked
with,” says trainer, Chad Evans who brought home a bronze trophy last year
at the AQHA World Show in Junior Trail.
“His
self carriage and athletic ability has made teaching him the trail and the
western riding so fun. He takes everything in stride and always wants to do his
best for you. He just has so much natural ability and he is an absolute blast to
show.”
Fluffy
has gotten off to a stellar start this year with two circuit championships at
the Arizona Sun Circuit in the Junior Trail and Western Riding, picking up an
impressive 65 points in those two classes. With Chad Evans in the saddle, this
red roan stallion ended 2013 as the AQHA Junior Western Riding Honor Roll
champion and was recently western riding and trail champions at the Pre-Denver
and the National Western Stock Show. As a three year-old, Fluffy won the NSBA
World Championship Show in the Limited Three-Year-Old Western Pleasure.
“I
am very excited to show him at the AQHA World Show again this year,” says
Evans. “He makes it all look so easy and has an effortless big lead
change. He really has the heart of a champion. He loves to show and really is
special in the way he connects to the rider and tries to do whatever they ask.”
Fluffy
will be standing to a limited number of mares in April and May for an
introductory fee of $1250.
The
Biddulphs also own and stand Fluffy’s older full brother, VS Code Blue who Evans showed to a top-10
finish at the AQHA World Show in Junior Western Riding in 2012.
GoHorseShow
wishes Chad and My Vital Valentine the best of luck at the upcoming shows this
year and looks forward to seeing foals by My Vital Valentine and VS Code Blue
in the near future.
