Its A Southern Thing Announces Arrival of First Foal

“So very excited to announce the first ‘Mini Pie’,” says Amy Gumz of Gumz Farms about the first foal sired by Its A Southern Thing and out of Good Doll.

“Of course it was one of the coldest nights on record and Bailey decided to join us almost three weeks ahead of schedule,” Amy says. “She’s just adorable and sweet as they come and has caused quite a stir.”

According to Gumz, Its A Southern Thing (Moonpie) came home for a short rest and to freeze semen. Currently, he is back with AQHA Multiple World Champion pleasure trainer, Shane Dowdy preparing for the upcoming show season.
“We are very excited for his return to the show pen in multiple events,” Gumz states. “We are breeding a great group of mares in 2014 via frozen semen–his frozen semen is of great quality with amazing pregnancy rates. We have had great inquiries from mare owners and are taking select outside mares for the 2014 season by private treaty.”
Its A Southern Thing is by Only In the Moonlite and out of Shesa Hot Cookie. This gorgeous bay stallion was Top 5 in the 2012 Congress Masters Two Year-Old Western Pleasure class. His foals are eligible for both the Kentucky Breeder’s Incentive Fund and the AQHA Incentive Fund.
