Congress Champion, Diesel Only Moves to Pilot Knob Ranch

For 2014, Congress Champion and sire, Diesel Only will be standing at Mike Hay’s, Pilot Knob Ranch, located in Pinnacle, North Carolina. The gorgeous stallion is by Gucci Only and out of No Way By Me. Diesel is homozygous for the dark gene and will never sire a red foal regardless the color of the mare.

“Diesel is well started in his breeding career, consistently siring good looking, great movers that are now old enough to be winning under saddle,” says Mike Hay, Pilot Knob Ranch Breeding Manager. “He will be standing for a fee of $1500 with considerations to show mares and producers. He stands to APHA and ApHC at Private Treaty.”

Hay adds, “We take the business of shipping semen very seriously, and it is our only business. We guarantee semen quality and our service.”
Owner Gail Wilkinson told GoHorseShow that she decided to move Diesel closer to home so she could be more involved with his breeding career.
“He passes on his signature good looks, great mind, friendliness, and slow legs. In a field of foals, you can pick out the Diesels,” Gail states. “One time someone asked me, ‘don’t you get tired of looking at all dark, gorgeous babies?’ Of course, my reply was ‘nope’. Diesel is just a dream come true for me. I first saw him as a two month-old foal, and it was love at first sight. Every time I look in his stall, my heart skips a beat, so really, this is my love affair with a horse. I’ve believed in him from day one.”
Diesel is a sire of Congress, Reichert, and multiple futurity winners. He is a 2011 Congress Champion sire, the 2011 sire of the Congress Super Sale high selling horse, and the 2010 sire of the Congress Super Sale high selling yearling. Some of his impressive offspring include: Hez Plum Poison, Ablazing Hot Diesel, Diesel Maid, Diesel Upgrade, Only In My Heart, and Shantillee Lace.

Diesel Only has an impressive show record beginning as a two-year-old when he placed 6th at the 2007 Congress Masters Western Pleasure Class. In 2008 he went from the show pen to the breeding barn where he began his new career. In 2009, Diesel went to trainer, Shane Young. With Shane aboard, they won the prestigious Junior Western Pleasure Class at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. To complete his career in Junior Western Pleasure, Shane rode Diesel at the 2010 AQHA World Show and finished with a 4th place. With Diesel’s signature good looks and great mind, he has proven himself to be one of the top pleasure horses in the country.
