Despite the recent tornadoes that hit the area, the Gordyville USA Turkey Run was recently held November 29th through December 1st. It is the premier horse show arena in the Midwest, boasting some of the largest breed shows in all of the Central United States. Luckily, the facility was unscathed during the recent storms and everyone appeared to be in the holiday and giving spirit during this fun family oriented show.
“It was a festive weekend with the Ugly Christmas sweater western pleasure in which Linda Pingleton was crowned the champion and won a $100 gift certificate to Pard’s Western Shop,” says Gordyville Show Manager, Jody Quiram. “The reserve winner was Joey Stillwell and he received a $50 gift certificate to The Closet Space.”
There were four sets of AQHA points and the judges for the show were Stephen Stephens, Terry Cross, Garth Gooding, and Steve Ferguson. They judged over 2700 entries and crowned nine all arounds with trophies from AQHA. Year end title haulers were at the show from North Dakota, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio and Nebraska.
“All we kept saying was how great it was to be back at Gordyville,” says trainer and AQHA Judge Christa Baldwin. “Mary, Jody and the whole crew treat everyone so good! Lots of people chasing last minute points so it was fun and awesome camaraderie.”
Gordyville looks forward to 2014 with shows set for February 13-16 and March 22-30.
