Congress Freestyle Reining Goes Gangnam Style

Screams and shouts filled the Task Coliseum on October 12 as one of the premier events of the All American Quarter Horse Congress entertained spectators with a reining extravaganza. This year, the unofficial theme of freestyle reining was mascots. Dr. Ronald Kantner of Wapakoneta, Ohio, rode dressed as the Ohio State University mascot, Brutus, getting the crowd to chant along to “O-H-I-O” and AQHA Professional Horseman Pete Kyle dressed as a chipmunk for his routine on his mare A Ruf Gal.
