Bradac Ranch South is excited to announce their purchase of Open For
Suggestion from Shirley Roth. The six year-old roan stallion is by the proven sire, Open Range.
One of Kerry Bradac’s favorite quotes, ‘We don’t meet horses by accident. They are chosen to cross our path for a reason,’ is quite fitting in this case considering their recent purchase of this gorgeous stallion.
With years of campaigning the successful hunter under saddle stallion, Hot Diggity Joe, Kerry Bradac is no stranger to the show pen and breeding end of the industry. Once Bradac had relocated her breeding operation from North Dakota to Ocala, Florida, she began to entertain the idea of purchasing a western pleasure stallion that would compliment her western mares.
After arriving home to Ocala after the NSBA World Show, Kerry and her trainer, Sean Knowles and his fiancé, Anna Ingram, went to Roth Quarter Horses to look at a yearling roan stallion by VS Code Red that was for sale. On their way through the barn, there was another roan horse that stopped them in their tracks. That magnificent horse was Congress Top Five Western Pleasure Champion, Open for Suggestion.
Being in the breeding business for many years, this young son of the late, Open Range had already piqued Kerry’s interest. Bradac loved his pedigree, and was even more impressed by his movement. She had been hoping to get to see him in person, and what she saw exceeded all of her expectations
They continued their visit and looked at many outstanding prospects. The youngsters that stood out the most were the foals by Open For Suggestion–they were big, pretty and balanced. They all had their sire’s substance, flat front leg and strong hind ends with a lot of eye appeal.
“I have been fortunate to have seen foals by many of the nation’s top stallions,” Bradac states. “The uniformity we saw in the weanlings to the yearlings is definitely something to get excited about as the mares they were out of were all so different. Open For Suggestion is one of those stallions that you just know is going to be a breeding horse. It was right then and there I knew I had found the perfect addition to our breeding program.”
Scott and Kerry Bradac would like to say, “Thank You” to Shirley Roth for giving them the amazing opportunity to purchase Hugh. “We are very excited to see what the future holds for this stallion and are truly blessed to be a part of it,” Kerry says.
Open For Suggestion will be standing the 2014 Breeding Season at McDuffee Quarter Horses in Ocala, Florida. His stud fee will be $2500. Kerry will be running a Congress Breeding Special for $2000. Bradac Ranch South and Knowles Performance Horses invite you to stop by the farm and meet Hugh in person.
